Privacy Policy

Last updated 27 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled on drisabelfranco.com, the website of Dr Isabel B. Franco. The website is operated by IBF International Institute for Better Futures Pty Ltd, referred to here as “we”, “us” or “our”.

We are committed to handling personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Where the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the UK GDPR applies to you, we also respect the rights it gives you.

1. Information we collect

We only collect the information we need. Depending on how you use the website, this may include:

  • Enquiries: your full name, email address, organisation, the type of enquiry and your message, when you use the contact form.
  • Newsletter: your first name and email address, when you subscribe.
  • Consent records: the date and time you gave consent, the version of the policies you accepted, your IP address and your browser details. We keep these to show that consent was given.
  • Cookie choices: a small cookie that remembers your cookie settings. See our Cookie Policy.
  • Technical information: like most websites, our hosting provider may record server logs (for example IP address, browser type and pages visited) to keep the website secure and working.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive information, and we ask that you do not include it in your messages.

2. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • reply to your enquiry and discuss possible work, speaking or collaboration;
  • send you the newsletter you subscribed to;
  • keep a record of the consents you have given;
  • keep the website secure and working properly;
  • meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision making.

3. Legal bases (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on your consent (newsletter and optional cookies), on steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (enquiries), on our legitimate interests in running a secure website and responding to people who contact us, and on legal obligations.

4. Sharing your information

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the website and our communications, such as our website hosting and email providers, and only as far as needed for that purpose. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Some of these providers may store information outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure the information is protected to a standard comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles.

5. Keeping your information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Consent records are kept for as long as we need to be able to show that consent was given.

6. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including restricted access to the website administration. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights

You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.

If the GDPR applies to you, you can also ask us to erase your information, restrict or object to its use, or provide it to you in a portable format, and you can withdraw your consent at any time without affecting earlier use.

To make a request, contact us using the button below. We will respond within a reasonable time.

8. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au). If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also contact your local data protection authority.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
